Harassment of any individual for any reason is not acceptable at Duke University. Harassment is unwelcome verbal or physical conduct that, because of its severity and/or persistence, interferes significantly with an individual’s work or education, or adversely affects an individual’s living conditions. (See the Student Sexual Misconduct Policy for the definition of and procedures related to sex/gender-based harassment by an undergraduate or graduate student.) The Office of Student Conduct also responds to allegations of other types of harassment in which the accused is an undergraduate student. The Office for Institutional Equity responds to allegations of non-sex/gender-based harassment in which an accused is not an undergraduate student; see https://web.duke.edu/equity/resources/documents/harassment_policy_and_procedures.pdf for the university’s full Harassment Policy.
